AET’s 2024–2025 Annual Review features Daphne Technology as part of the company’s Sustainability Strategy, in connection with their efforts on Direct Emissions Capture. The review highlights AET’s pilot of Daphne Technology’s PureMetrics™ system as part of their efforts to improve emissions transparency and explore methane reduction strategies.

As part of the pilot, the PureMetrics™ system has been installed on two of AET’s LNG dual-fuel vessels — Eagle Ventura (Aframax) and Eagle Bintulu (VLCC). The technology enables real-time measurement of engine emissions, providing greater visibility into vessel performance and helping AET evaluate emerging solutions for methane capture, which are in early stages of development and review.
Supporting Digitalisation and Regulatory Readiness
PureMetrics™ supports AET’s broader digitalisation roadmap and regulatory preparedness under frameworks such as the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), the IMO Data Collection System (DCS), and performance standards like the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) and the Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI).
Jamie Brick, Interim CEO of Daphne Technology, commented: “We are pleased to work with AET on this important initiative. Their leading role in piloting emerging technologies and their commitment to sustainability have made the collaboration both productive and insightful. AET’s use of PureMetrics™ reflects a practical and forward-looking approach to emissions transparency, and their engagement has provided valuable operational input that continues to strengthen the technology.”
Operational Insights from Real-Time Measurement
PureMetrics™ is generating operational insights through initial installations, helping shipowners and charterers improve emissions transparency, quantify methane slip, and prepare for upcoming regulatory requirements. The system measures both CO₂ and methane (CH₄) directly from engine exhaust in real time, supporting compliance with frameworks such as the EU ETS, IMO DCS, CII, and EEXI. By delivering real-time emissions data from multiple engine stacks, PureMetrics™ strengthens greenhouse gas accounting and compliance readiness across dual-fuel vessel operations.
Designed for integration on LNG dual-fuel, gas-powered, and conventional engine vessels, PureMetrics™ is a modular emissions monitoring system that enables direct measurement of methane slip and CO₂ directly at the exhaust outlet. It supports real-time tracking of vessel emissions, aligns with EU MRV and upcoming IMO methane regulations, and provides a robust foundation for meeting carbon intensity and carbon pricing requirements in maritime operations.
