Lloyd’s Register formally presents PureMetrics™ Factual Statement at Gastech 2026

Lloyd’s Register formally presented its Factual Statement for Daphne Technology’s PureMetrics™ continuous emissions monitoring system during Gastech 2026 in Bangkok.

The Factual Statement, issued earlier this year, confirms that PureMetrics™ has been assessed and found suitable for the direct monitoring of selected greenhouse gas emissions from marine diesel engines onboard ships.

Andy McKeran, Chief Growth Officer at Lloyd’s Register, formally presents the signed PureMetrics™ Factual Statement to Ivan Raleff, Managing Director Switzerland (left) and Kuldipak Pednekar, Head of Marine & Offshore Operations (right), at Gastech 2026 in Bangkok.

The assessment, based on reviewed documentation and onboard demonstration testing, includes an LR Design Appraisal of the PureMetrics™ system and its emissions calculation methodology. Unlike vessel-specific approvals, the appraisal applies to the system’s generic design, providing shipowners and operators with a technical basis to support future ship-specific applications and certification processes.

The appraisal confirms that PureMetrics™ is designed to monitor carbon dioxide (CO₂) and methane, alongside carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NO and NO₂) and sulphur dioxide (SO₂). The system is intended for use on marine diesel and dual-fuel engines.

The formal presentation at Gastech gave Daphne Technology and Lloyd’s Register the opportunity to present the assessment to shipowners, operators and other industry stakeholders attending the event.

Daphne Technology first announced the Lloyd’s Register Factual Statement in June 2026.
