Electrical Product Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Product Engineer to join our growing Product and Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing manufacturing of Daphne’s proprietary power supplies, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards. The role requires a strong understanding of the requirements to industrialize medium power (100 kW) power supplies and a good foundation in electrical and process engineering. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, particularly R&D.  This role is specifically to support the development of Daphne Technology’s SlipPure Land technology in North America with the position being located in the greater Houston area.

Your responsibilities:
  • Industrialize established R&D power supply prototypes into manufacturable products.
  • Interface with customer (current and future) to understand electrical system requirements and educate on system operation
  • Establish production lines and capabilities and help vet vendors for at scale production.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including specifications and reports, that can be communicated with external parties.
  • Lead and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) with established vendors.
  • Support field installation, commissioning, and startup at customer sites.
  • Ensure compliance of devices with industry practices and norms and lead certification efforts.
  • Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in power systems engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of power system analysis software (e.g., PLECS).
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., NEC500).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity and experience with the design and installation of electrical and instrumentation control panels in outdoor industrial environments is an expectation.
  • Experience industrializing and developing industrial power electronic products from prototype to manufacturing is desired.

As the Electrical Product Engineer, you will be required to travel approximately 25% of the time, primarily to customer sites, vendor shops, and to Daphne’s R&D facilities in Switzerland. This position is expected to be based in the greater Houston area.
