Daphne Technology launched as a spin-off from The Swiss Plasma Center at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), by Founder & CEO Dr Mario Michan.
To lead the global effort in reducing methane emissions, ensuring a cleaner and sustainable future for generations to come.
To develop innovative, scalable solutions that measure and abate methane slip from gas-powered engines on land and at sea, empowering industries to meet emissions regulations, reduce environmental impact, and contribute to global climate goals.
To drive the transition to a low-carbon economy by addressing one of the most potent greenhouse gases, methane, and advancing technologies that enable industries to operate sustainably while supporting the global fight against climate change.
Founded in 2018 by Dr. Mario Michan, Daphne Technology began with a vision to address the critical challenge of greenhouse gas emissions. Building on his maritime experience and advanced research in physics, Mario developed the company’s core concept at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), which spun out as Daphne Technology in 2017.
Over the years, we have developed innovative technologies to reduce emissions, gaining recognition from global industrial leaders and winning multiple awards, including the prestigious Swiss Economic Forum Award. In autumn 2024, we launched Daphne Solutions SA to focus on sulphur removal and carbon management, allowing us to sharpen our focus on methane slip abatement. Methane, over 80 times more potent than COâ‚‚ in the short term, is a key contributor to global warming, making its reduction essential for achieving climate goals.
Backed by cutting-edge R&D, strong industry partnerships, and a track record of excellence, Daphne Technology continues to advance the global energy transition by addressing methane emissions from gas-powered engines on land and at sea.
Daphne Technology’s innovative approach has attracted investments from leading industrial partners committed to driving a sustainable energy transition.
Our dedication to reducing greenhouse gas emissions has been recognized with several prestigious awards, highlighting our contribution to a greener future.
